Current status of retinoids in chemoprevention of oral squamous cell carcinoma: an overview

Abstract

Squamous cell carcinoma of the oral cavity and oropharynx may be amenable to chemoprevention.

This review focuses on current concepts of mechanisms in oral carcinogenesis, as well as the evidence that retinoids have a role in the primary and secondary prevention of this malignancy.
