"I had three tumors, with the Di Bella Method, they disappeared!"

Modena (Italy), October 4, 2012 - "We are many, but it should be clear, we are not healed. Because cancer changes your life. And it changes it forever. " That’s how begins the conversation with 43 years old Roberta Tagliani, from Modena and since 20 is "reggiana" by adoption.
In front of a coffee and of a letter that she decided to write in these days to be delivered as far away as possible. «I want you to know that there are people like me. I want you to know that we are many, and even if we didn't reach the last stage of the disease, we had the courage to choose a treatment different than chemotherapy. Treatment that gave us positive results in a short time, and gave us the possibility to live a higher quality of life than those who face the disease following the traditional protocols».
We are talking about the Di Bella Method, or Di Bella Multitherapy (Mdb abbreviated) if you prefer. One of the most intricate, controversial and debated medical events that Italy has ever lived. Rejected by the Ministry of Health and the National Health Institute, and yet, after 14 years passed from a controversy that has divided the country, is still chosen by the cancer patients that difficult day when they are forced to say yes or no to an operation and/or chemotherapy, in the corridor of a hospital.
As it happened, or better as done by Roberta last may two months after the diagnosis of a trifocal malignant cancer that, after 79 days of alternative treatment, no longer exists{jumi [jumi/Player.html]}. To prove it there are the results of the PET (Positron emission tomography) examination performed by a radiologist who feared not to sleep a wink the following nights once that he heard the story of Roberta and before starting the diagnostic examination. «But instead ...» repeats Roberta waving the report dated July «instead he came out and asked me where have I been diagnosed with cancer, because there were no signs of cancer in my body. I told him that he would not sleep that night, but only because he will have many things to think about!». Roberta is not a 'DiBelliana', has a healthy dose of skepticism and does not want to do political battles. But while waving the paper seems to repeat that famous 'And yet it moves', that in the same time is a big question mark.
CANCER materialized in the life of Roberta Tagliani on March 24. In black and white: second degree trifocal ductal cancer in the left breast. With a high rate of proliferation. This says the diagnosis. «It's indescribable what it feels like. I did not see anything - remembers Roberta -. They told me that I should have an operation very quickly. I immediately thought of my children aged 5 and 6 years. I would have told them that I cut my hair. I was already thinking where could I to buy a wig!». Nearly by chance, a few days later, I found out about the story of the professor from Modena. A friend leaves a newspaper article. It tells about the Di Bella Method. It traces the controversy. The charges. The suspicions. The criticism. Roberta is interested and gets informed by devouring web pages. «I started to study from there and now I can say out loud that fortunately there is Internet. I was, and perhaps still are skeptical. Because in any case is an incredibly heavy treatment».
The 'traditional' oncologist and surgeon that examined her, had made clear the path ahead: six cycles of chemotherapy, to test drugs and find those most likely to defeat the three tumors. Then an axillary dissection and mastectomy. «The oncologist tells me to undergo chemotherapy immediately, but the surgeon tells me to wait and have the operation done first». The decision has to be taken very quickly, almost immediately. «But when they get in contact with me to put me on the list - says the 43-year old from Modena - I tell them that I have chosen a different way. I will follow the Di Bella Multitherapy. They told me that it would be madness!». Roberta goes on and turns to a surgeon and oncologist from Verona that follows the Di Bella Multitherapy. «Since then, every day, I take 30 tablets, 3 times a day a syrup, ascorbic acid and I always carry a microdiffusore of somatostatin that regularly is injected into my veins», explained showing the small appliance. Roberta has several alarm clocks that reminds her to take the medicine. «It is not easy. Not at all, I assure you. When I came out for the first time from the doctor from Verona I had a box full of medicines. The first month, I spent 2350 euro. Every 28 days I do an injection that costs €1,450. A lot of money, which are not bearable. But now, cancer is no longer here. After 79 days the PET - Positron Emission Tomography - is clear, there is no cancer in my body. I'll have to continue to follow the Multitherapy, virtually forever. But I cannot think of spending € 2,500 per month to be able to cure myself!». This is one of the reasons that lead Roberta to get in touch with other people that chose to follow the same way.
«WE ARE MANY, it's a lot of us. We don't know what goes through a patient that does chemotherapy. The vitamins included in the Di Bella method left us active. Alive! We are a group on Facebook, and we support each other. We wonder why the drugs of the Di Bella Multitherapy cost so much. Why the Health Service does not pass anything?». There are three, mainly, the reasons that led the 43-year old from Modena to write her history, her 79 days, sending it to the press and to the Councillor of the Regional Health Carlo Lusenti. «For the right to choose, the right to know. For the right to take care of oneself without the risk of having to give up because the expenses are too high. We are many, even in the province of Reggio and Modena to have chosen the Di Bella Multitherapy. Listen to our stories. Many have survived, others have died. Others didn't make it, but lived much more than it was expected at the beginning. You have to talk about us that are not cured, but that can really continue to live!».
